Camping at our venues

Our three centres in Monmouthshire and Powys offer bags of opportunity for camping as well as staying in dormitory accommodation.

Gwent Outdoor Centres – campingAt Gilwern, our largest site at 15 acres, there is a large field close to the River Usk where we can accommodate regional Scout groups and other large camping groups. There is access to water and toilets there so groups can be quite separate from the centre itself.

Hilston Park also has extensive grounds which offer facilities for camping and Talybont-on-Usk can accommodate smaller camping groups, such as Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions.

What activities?

Safety first for all

At Gwent Outdoor Centres our experienced staff always put safety first. We are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA), which is overseen by the Health and Safety Executive. The AALA was set up to ensure outdoor activity providers follow good safety management practices. These should allow young people to experience exciting and stimulating activities outdoors – without being exposed to avoidable risks.

We continually monitor and update our procedures to ensure the safety of the young people in our care.
